Taraneh (she/her) was born in Iran and immigrated to Canada in 1996. She is mom to 2 magical humans (and 1 dog), counsellor, spiritual guide, and writer. She also is a Registered Clinical Counsellor (BCACC), yoga and meditation teacher, certified Expressive Arts Therapist and best-selling author of the book Conscious Grieving: The Path of Awakening through Loss.
Taraneh has been working exclusively in the mental health and personal development field since 2008. She has been an RCC since 2010 and is passionate about operating from an anti-oppressive framework. Her work is informed strongly by body-centred psychotherapy, somatic experiencing, focusing oriented therapy, and narrative therapy. She brings psycho-education into sessions with clients so as to support them in finding ways to feel empowered on their healing journey. Polyvagal theory and attachment theories frequent conversations in sessions. Clients are resourced with practical tools to generate change and healthy patterns in their lives.
In her private practice, over 70% of her clients identify as members of BIPOC community, and 40% as LGBTQ2S+.
