EXPRESS
EXPRESS
Day Retreat for those who are drawn to intentional communities, sacred spaces, inclusive gatherings, chances to move their body, create art, reflect and grow.
EXPRESS is a remembering of what it means to be accepted and held by others in all the wondrous messy aspects of being human. It is a remembrance of being with others and being for others. It is an opportunity to bring to surface what is rattling in your bones, quaking in your soul, and to articulate what needs to be shared.
The origin of the word "EXPRESS" means "stated explicitly, not implied, and clearly communicated—specifically with intent." Now is the moment to clearly and explicitly convey our needs, purposefully expressing ourselves both verbally and nonverbally. Let's commit to being present for one another.

About your facilitators
Yvette Lalonde (they/them) is a somatic trauma therapist, relational movement guide, dance facilitator, and an embodiment mentor to therapists with over 20 years of experience in various wellness fields. Yvette embraces the transformative power of dance with a deep understanding of the neurobiology of trauma, a reverence for the unseen, and for the mysteries of being human. To them, dance is a sacred journey that cultivates deeper intimacy with ourselves, ancestors, one another, Earth, and Cosmos. They regard dance as both a revolution and solace from the system within and around us. In their spaces, the richness of human expression is celebrated, and they aim to spark relational connection and ignite the imaginal world.
Taraneh Erfan (she/her) is a first generation immigrant settler of Iranian ancestry. She is mom to two magical humans (and one pup), a registered clinical counsellor, certified expressive arts therapist, yoga and meditation teacher, and author of the book Conscious Grieving: The Path of Awakening through Loss. Taraneh is passionate about operating from an anti-oppressive framework. Her work is informed strongly by body-centred psychotherapy, somatic experiencing, focusing oriented therapy, and narrative therapy. Taraneh is grateful to live and work, as a guest, on the unceded lands of the Sḵwx̱wú7mesh people, and while not working, you can find her hiking the trails with her dog, writing poetry by the river, working on her next book and signing out loud in the car with her kids while shuttling them to and from dance classes.
