Go Full Cheetah
On January 1, 2020 (clearly with no freaking clue what global scale gong show we were about to collectively experience) I declared that this was the year I was fully ready to passionately, without permission or regret, pursue my biggest goals, lead by my intuition. I was ready to GO FULL CHEETAH 🐆
This idea stemmed from an invitation from Seth Godin when I heard him speak during a conference in 2015. He was speaking on the topic of leadership and going after one’s goals and he asked the audience a simple question:
Does the cheetah care about what it looks like when it’s running?
And the answer was simple: No. The cheetah runs intuitively and passionately. It is focused on running and nothing else. It doesn’t give a crap what it looks like to those watching. It only cares how it feels and where it’s going.
Here are some of the things I learned in that experience:
⚡️To go full cheetah is a commitment. Commitment to vision, to intuition, to embodiment, to discernment, to passion, to not giving a f*ck what others think.
⚡️ At times this will feel exhausting, impossible even. Nay sayers will appear out of thin air. Suggestions and opinions are shared without prompt and clouded by the stories, fears, judgements and perceptions of others.
⚡️ If the pursuit of the goal is smeared with ego, the cheetah may go off track, get distracted, lose focus. Only when the pursuit is true to one’s nature and deepest knowings, is it possible to return to the focus it takes to stay the course.
Do you want to go full cheetah?
What’s stopping you?
What are you in pursuit of?
Are you lead by intuition and passion?
Are you distracted by ego?
Have you stopped caring what it looks like when you go full cheetah?
